What personal data do I collect and why?

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Another reason for storing the IP-address is that it enable me to show you your own comment before it is approved. Otherwise, it may seem as if your comments wasn’t stored and people may comment the same thing multiple times.

Cookies

If you just visit my website, no cookies are stored at all.

If you leave a comment on my site your name and opt-in to store your details for the future, your e-mail address and website (if entered) are stored in a cookie. This is for convenience so you don’t have to retype all the information again if you want to comment another time. These cookies (3) are set to expire for a little less than 1 year. If you don’t opt-in, these cookies are created as well but they expire the moment they are created. There are no tracking cookies or whatsoever.

Analytics

I like number so I might feel like doing some analysis on the popularity of my posts. For example to see which recipe is most popular. I do not perform analyses on (country of) origin, age, sex, etc. Basically, I don’t care about you :p

Google Analytics or other 3th party analytics services are not being used, except for the Akismet anti-spam service.

Who I share your data with:

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
